This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it.  It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big  government state that she’s being forced to live in!  These solutions are  just common sense in her opinion.
This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use  drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing.  Ever live in a military barracks?  You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.  If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job.  It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.  We  will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary.  If you want our money, accept our rules.  Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.  The current system  rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE!  Yes, that is correct.  For you to vote would be a conflict of interest.  You will  voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t  welfare check.  If you want to vote, then get a job.

Obama is Gonna Help Pay My Gas, the Mortgage

Did I hear that right, “If I help him, he gonna help me”?  Smacks of Votes for Sale.  Did you realize 50% of Americans pay NO taxes.  As such, we’re very close to the tipping point where people will be able to vote themselves benefits without having to work for them.  The last four years, $5 trillion dollars ago, Obama has given us a taste of that.  Another four years will push us past that tipping point, the consequence of which will be a Greece-like default on an unimaginable scale.  Thought the Crash of 2008 and the Great Recession were bad?  Vote for Obama/Biden and let’s all find out just how bad it can get.

Unintended & Terrible Consequences

A family in my neighborhood did one of the most selfless acts imaginable – they agreed to foster a young boy, about 6, and help take him out of a “home” where the mother was neglectful (and worse – read on), and the father absent.  Let me paint a little clearer picture – the mother has many kids, and collects welfare for each.  She did not want to give up the child for adoption because that would mean less money for her (specifically, not the child).  That poor child was malnourished and falling behind developmentally.  She fed him skittles and Coke for breakfast.  He had behavioral issues (imagine that!).  Then the worst came to light – it turns out that if she can get her child certified with a learning disability, the mother gets even more welfare money.  With nutrition and parental attention like that, the child was certified LD, and her welfare income grew as a consequence.

So here’s the unintended consequence - this well-meaning program, meant to assist families in need, in the hands of this monster, did precisely the opposite of the intended program goals, it incented her to abuse her own child!

Welfare reform has got to be a priority for the new administration.  Obama’s administration doesn’t want to reshape welfare, because he doesn’t to lose her vote.  So now who’s the monster?

One Free iPhone is Not Enough

Heard recently of still another example of Entitlement-Gone-Wild.  There is apparently a welfare program that grants smartphones to eligible recipients because, you know, no one should be without a phone these days, right?  And to prevent abuse and too many minutes adding up at taxpayer expense, our thoughtful crafters of Entitlement Programs limited the number of minutes that each phone could rack up in a month.  Well, one enterprising young lady, not to be held down to just her alloted minutes, managed to secure herself 5 iPhones!

Why do we continue to put up with this?  Demand better!  And to think some say – “Don’t cut the entitlement programs, people will suffer!”

Fiscal Cliff – Don’t Believe It Yet?

Here’s a little perspective maker – this from the CBO:
-  U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
-  Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
-  New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
-  National debt: $14,271,000,000,000 (now above $16 trillion, BTW)
-  Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Hard to wrap your head around all those zeros isn’t it?  Then let’s remove 8 of them and pretend it’s a household budget:
-  Annual family income: $21,700
-  Money the family spent: $38,200
-  New debt on the credit card: $16,500
-  Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710

-  Total budget cuts so far: $38.50

Enough said?
